The Birth of Mount Vollo

I often think about that moment when you're halfway up a mountain. Behind you lies the familiar landscape you just traversed, comforting in its known challenges. Ahead, the summit beckons — uncertain, promising, slightly terrifying. In that pause, catching your breath, you make the choice to continue climbing.
That’s where we found ourselves.
After years of working together — building, solving, creating software that made people’s work lives better — we reached one of those pivotal moments. We could continue on our comfortable path, or we could strap on new gear and start a different kind of ascent.
We chose to climb.
Mount Vollo isn’t just a company name we pulled from thin air. It represents what we believe about software development: it’s an expedition. Sometimes challenging, often exhilarating, always worth the journey when you stand at the summit and look out over what you’ve built together.
We’ve been doing this long enough to know that the best journeys aren’t solo climbs. They’re shared adventures where you take turns reading the map, carrying the heavy gear, and pointing out the breathtaking views that might otherwise go unnoticed. Sometimes it’s a year-long expedition to build something monumental; sometimes it’s a week-long sprint to solve an urgent problem. Whatever the journey, we’re up for it.
So here we are, launching Mount Vollo. Will we change the world? Maybe. Will we keep crafting beautiful, useful code for as long as the AIs allow us? Absolutely. Will we relish every moment of the climb? Without question.
As our motto says: scaling heights, exploring depths. We’re ready to dive into any adventure we encounter — frontend or backend, infrastructure or architecture, consultancy or product development.
We’d love for you to join us on an expedition.
You can find us on one of our travels, on our new shiny website at https://mountvollo.nl, or on selected social media.
The journey matters, but the destination will take your breath away.
